Tap Roots Teacher Certification Course

Course Overview: This two-day certification course is designed specifically for dance teachers. You’ll be guided through the Tap Roots Curriculum and learn how to effectively implement it in your studio. A demonstrator is not required for this workshop.

Day One and Day Two: Tap Roots Certification Course

Hosts: Tap Roots Team Member & Miss Julie Kay Stallcup
Focus: Comprehensive Tap Roots Curriculum Training

Both days of the course will be taught by a Tap Roots team member and Miss Julie Kay Stallcup, covering all aspects of the curriculum in an integrated format. Together, they will guide you through the essentials of the Tap Roots program:

Here’s what you can expect:

• Explore the Seven Levels: Learn the consistent framework for teaching each of the seven levels of the Tap Roots program.
• Solid Technique: Understand how the progressive curriculum helps build strong tap foundations, enabling dancers to advance to higher levels.
• Using the Tap Roots App: Get hands-on experience with the Tap Roots app, learning how to utilize its many features to enhance your teaching.
• Incorporate Key Concepts: Dive into topics like timing, musicality, counting, sound quality, terminology, and the historical and cultural background of tap.
• Classroom Implementation: Discover practical strategies for warm-ups, using worksheets, creating tap combos, teaching tips, games, and ways to motivate students with music and rhythm.
• Choreography Tips: Learn how to craft strong, effective tap choreography from industry experts.

Certification:
At the end of the course, there will be a written exam. Completing the course and passing the exam will certify you as an official Tap Roots Teacher!
